Photos of the Baby's Room

Image
I've finally taken photos of the baby's room to share with you. And while I sometimes feel like this room will never be "done" (whatever that even means), I decided that it's time to just show it as it is - a work in progress for a little one soon to arrive. (click on the photos to see them larger if you like) I made the flag banner by hand, as well as the painted artwork hanging on the wall. On the shelf is a green piggy bank from grandma, a piece of art that I made, and some vintage blocks. I had the photo frames already thrifted and repainted. I made these fabric hangings just by stretching vintage inspired fabrics that I love over embroidery hoops. Just to add some color to the side of the room with the closet. This is probably my favorite part of the room. There is no overhead lighting in our house so I put together a group of Chinese lanterns and we hung them from the ceiling. The large white one actually lights and is connected to the light switch on a dim

Summer Plans

Image
(photo taken a long time ago at the apple orchard) Back when Dustin and I were dating, we would make lists of all of the places to visit or things we'd like to do for the summer time. Many of them were free since we were both starting out in our careers and needed free or inexpensive dates. It became a challenge as well as a little bit of fun to see what we could come up with. As summer approaches, I find myself thinking of that list and decided that we need another list for this summer. Mostly just as a list of things to look forward to, but also so that when that "what do you want to do today" time strikes, we have a go-to. So, here is the beginning of our summer list (which I'm hoping he will add to!) of things that we are going to do together (and with our new little one) this summer. 1. The Apple Orchard for picking apples, berries, and pumpkins 2. The Denver Botanic Gardens - because we have a membership and it's one of Dustin's favorite places 3. Oska

Thinking Back

Image
Feeling nostalgic about a good trip today. We went to Costa Rica in 2009 - it's hard for me to believe it's been almost two years since we were there. Our next travel adventure? Ireland. It's not planned yet, but it's happening. But for today, just looking back at a good time for us. XO, Meg

Spring in Our Neighborhood

Image
We really love this neighborhood. We're in walking distance to the Farmer's Market, The Tattered Cover, a nice park, the library, and quite a few local pubs and restaurants. For being in the suburbs, we really like the community here. So nice to see everything turning green and starting to bloom. XO, Meg

Birthday Fun

Image
Dustin bought me this amazing camera bag for my birthday. He gave it to me last weekend (early) so that I could use it with my camera gear for when we went to the Denver Botanic Gardens. I love this bag and keep packing and unpacking it just for fun. I wrote a really geeky blog post on my other blog today about my favorite accessories and a few dreamy things I'd still love to own. The funniest part about this awesome camera bag? I ordered a laptop bag for Dustin from the exact same person on Etsy and gave him his gift early too! Apparently after 3 1/2 years of marriage, you start shopping at the same places. :) I love birthdays and am having fun with my new present. Perfect in time for spring. :) XO, Meg
