Shuttle Launch, STS-133

If you didn't know, today marks the final trip of the Space Shuttle Discovery. It has been a long and eventful road for this marvel of engineering and technology. However since it's planned decommission, this flying wonder has had a death sentence.

The Space Shuttle Discovery is "planned" to replace the NASA Shuttle prototype Enterprise in the Smithsonian.

The launch will occur today at 2:50PM MST or 4:50PM EST, launching from Cape Canaveral, pad 39A. The payload: critical backup and replacement electronics for the International Space Station. What is cool about this? We have an electronics processor box going up and one of my fellow engineers is down there right now. Bring me back a moon rock, Cindy!
