IRELAND days 1-5

Ross Castle - the day we arrived in Ireland (trying to get on the right time zone). We'd been awake for well over 24hrs by this point after 14hrs of flying.

Driving in Ireland was quite the experience. Wrong side of the car on the wrong side of the road with signage like this!

The streets of Killarney, County Kerry

This yellow wild flower was blooming all across Ireland. The photo doesn't do it justice. Absolutely amazing.

Cahir Castle. This was a fun day. We drove from Killarney to Naas (west coast to east coast of Ireland) and along the way, stopped at the following two castles.

Inside Cahir.

We flew in to Shannon, Ireland and spent the first leg of our trip in County Kerry. The weather was dreary, rainy, overcast- exactly what you'd expect from Ireland. We stayed in a lovely bed and breakfast with really kind hosts. Despite the fact that Julian got an ear infection promptly upon arrival in Ireland, we still managed to do a lot of sight seeing and exploring. I've linked to the sites on Wikipedia for any further reading. XO, Meg

**Bear with me, it's really challenging to do blog posts and narrow the trip down to just highlights. We ended up with over 1,000 photos so choosing just a few for each blog post is really, really hard. I'll do my best!**

This map shows the course of our trip. We flew in to Shannon (the green dot), drove south to Killarney, drove east to Naas, then back west to Ennis. Many of the stops we visited are listed in black boxes, although we did not make it to every one of them.
