Half Way Bump!


I took this picture last Monday. Tomorrow I will be 21 weeks pregnant so this photo was right at 20 weeks. I am carrying this baby girl much, much higher than I carried Julian. He was down so low and I already feel her up pretty high. With Julian I felt flutters in the beginning but with her, I felt kicks from the get go. She is a kicker! I'm just glad they don't hurt yet. She's most active around 10:30pm - a night owl like her mama. I'm feeling good and just staying busy with Julian. I'm enjoying my own little personal space heater lately with our frigid, below-zero temperatures. Too. Cold. 

We got our tree and house decorated finally last night - the tree has been up for a week with just lights on it. Julian is having fun looking at the ornaments and playing with a bucket of jingle bells I gave him. We've been listening to Christmas music and dancing around the house all week. The snow and cold has made it finally feel like Christmas. We're excited, ready, and NEARLY done with our gift buying and making. He's going to be so much fun this year! 
I really love 2 and a half. He's so much fun right now.

6 Months Pregnant

I am 6 months pregnant this week and it hardly seems real. It's hard for me to believe how fast this pregnancy is going. I'm so grateful to still be feeling well. This belly is definitely sticking out and the baby loves to kick and squirm at both 11pm and 5am. I had an older man at Home Depot trying to guess my due date this weekend which was both cute and funny. He's certainly hoping for a June 4th baby which is his birthday. We'll be lucky to see this baby before July 4th, really! Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of posting pregnant photos on here of myself, but I know there are a few of you who are out of state and wondering. We go back to the doctor on Friday and will have a chance to see this little one's face. If there's a great photo to share, I'll let you know. XO, Meg

Photos of the Baby's Room

I've finally taken photos of the baby's room to share with you. And while I sometimes feel like this room will never be "done" (whatever that even means), I decided that it's time to just show it as it is - a work in progress for a little one soon to arrive. (click on the photos to see them larger if you like) I made the flag banner by hand, as well as the painted artwork hanging on the wall. On the shelf is a green piggy bank from grandma, a piece of art that I made, and some vintage blocks. I had the photo frames already thrifted and repainted. I made these fabric hangings just by stretching vintage inspired fabrics that I love over embroidery hoops. Just to add some color to the side of the room with the closet. This is probably my favorite part of the room. There is no overhead lighting in our house so I put together a group of Chinese lanterns and we hung them from the ceiling. Round 1 is on the way!

I ordered round 1 of my cloth diaper stash this weekend because they were on a crazy good deal and had gender neutral colors (which are hard to come by)! I'll be ordering from two different sites to have a little variety but I'm excited to have some on the way. Yes, I realize how ridiculous this sounds, but after doing as much research on them as I have, I'm just happy to have some finally on the way. 12 diapers for $60 including tax and shipping = yes please!! In case you don't know, that's a crazy good deal for cloth diapers. The average person spends about $15/cloth diaper. Woohoo for good deals! XO, Meg
