Happy St Paddy's Day!

Dropping in to post a photo of my babes in green. <3

2016 has been really intense for us but it looks like we are turning the corner to brighter days. In the past month, Alice has had a virus that came with the scariest whole-body rash I've ever seen in my life. Seriously something like out of a horror film. That was scary and took some wading through to be sure it was only a virus (it was). Then, last Monday, Alice had a toy in her mouth pretending to trumpet with it when she tripped on her feet and fell face first landing right on the toy in her mouth. Queue her first visit to the ER. After an IV with lots of pain meds, they did a CT Scan on her to check for vessel damage and to check her palette for damage. Thankfully there was no damage to either so we avoided surgery. However the giant gouge in her mouth is still there and healing slowly. 10 days later it no longer makes me queasy to look at it. (So, so gross). Convincing an almost 2 year old to only eat soft foods for a week and a half has been far more of a challenge than it sounds. Since it was on the roof of her mouth, there were no stitches or anything to be done but wait for it to heal. We haven't slept much in the past month! ;)  We are so thankful to finally start to see her pain ease up. She's been on medicine around the clock helping with the pain since it happened and finally 10 days later, we see our happy girl again and are so thankful her pain is easing.

Dustin has been working such long and intense hours at work and his deadlines are drawing near so we are hopeful that things at work will start to go back to normal. There are some days he leaves at 5:30am and makes it home just in time for bed time with the kids at 8:30pm. Long days for everyone.

Julian is doing so great in preschool. His teacher says he is more than ready for kindergarten and I totally agree. He's noticing letters and their sounds and starting to put the sounds together to read words. He's a sponge and constantly talking about letters, sounds, and words. He will be reading very soon.

I'm just gearing up to think about Alice's 2nd Birthday coming up. That's so hard to believe. I feel like I was just pregnant with her! She is a fireball and keeps us on our toes and keeps us laughing. Julian will be 5 this summer. He's at such a fun age. My business is quiet this time of year and it's been nice for a break but I'm gearing up to get back at it. I photographed a birth for a friend a few weeks ago and I'm doing family photos for them next week. Lots of fun things on the calendar for the year already!

Hope our friends and family are all well! Happy St Patrick's Day!
