An Update

I can't believe I haven't updated the blog since Christmas! The weeks are going by so quickly. We're getting closer and closer to meeting our newest little family member. Julian is keeping me on my toes which is both good and bad. We're feeling anxious to meet the baby and for the warmer weather we are hoping she will bring with her. Julian is on his second round of antibiotics for an ear infection that won't clear up. He's been sick for 5 straight weeks and they have been long ones without a lot of rest. I'm desperately trying to get him well before we bring home his sister. Dustin is still busy with work and extra projects he's working on. He's putting in a lot of hours but working on things he loves. I have one more professional photography session this weekend to complete before I go on a bit of maternity leave from working. I've been so busy with photo shoots which has been awesome. Business is good.

At the zoo on Monday with his best friends. Their mamas are friends of mine since high school. It's pretty awesome to have known them since I was a teenager, and now have babies who are best friends. They are the sweetest together. <3

    So glad to see a new post and some prego pics! When is your due date? Can't wait to hear about your new little lady! Praying the delivery goes well and that your adjustment to a family of 4 is smooth! Hope Julian starts feeling better soon! Take care!

6 Months Pregnant

I am 6 months pregnant this week and it hardly seems real. It's hard for me to believe how fast this pregnancy is going. I'm so grateful to still be feeling well. This belly is definitely sticking out and the baby loves to kick and squirm at both 11pm and 5am. I had an older man at Home Depot trying to guess my due date this weekend which was both cute and funny. He's certainly hoping for a June 4th baby which is his birthday. We'll be lucky to see this baby before July 4th, really! Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of posting pregnant photos on here of myself, but I know there are a few of you who are out of state and wondering. We go back to the doctor on Friday and will have a chance to see this little one's face. If there's a great photo to share, I'll let you know. XO, Meg

Photos of the Baby's Room

I've finally taken photos of the baby's room to share with you. And while I sometimes feel like this room will never be "done" (whatever that even means), I decided that it's time to just show it as it is - a work in progress for a little one soon to arrive. (click on the photos to see them larger if you like) I made the flag banner by hand, as well as the painted artwork hanging on the wall. On the shelf is a green piggy bank from grandma, a piece of art that I made, and some vintage blocks. I had the photo frames already thrifted and repainted. I made these fabric hangings just by stretching vintage inspired fabrics that I love over embroidery hoops. Just to add some color to the side of the room with the closet. This is probably my favorite part of the room. There is no overhead lighting in our house so I put together a group of Chinese lanterns and we hung them from the ceiling. Round 1 is on the way!

I ordered round 1 of my cloth diaper stash this weekend because they were on a crazy good deal and had gender neutral colors (which are hard to come by)! I'll be ordering from two different sites to have a little variety but I'm excited to have some on the way. Yes, I realize how ridiculous this sounds, but after doing as much research on them as I have, I'm just happy to have some finally on the way. 12 diapers for $60 including tax and shipping = yes please!! In case you don't know, that's a crazy good deal for cloth diapers. The average person spends about $15/cloth diaper. Woohoo for good deals! XO, Meg
